LAHORE: A young student reportedly died under mysterious circumstances after falling from the building of a private university on Defence Road here on Friday.

Mohammad Awais (22) fell down from the 4th floor of the varsity.

According to initial reports, Awais suffered critical head and neck injuries and was immediately rushed by his fellows to the attached hospital of the university where he died.

The police rushed to the site and launched investigations into the incident.

A police official said they could not determine the exact cause of the incident so far.

However, he said they were working on two possible aspects – suicide or accidental death – and trying to examine security cameras as well.

The body was shifted to the city morgue.
