MANSEHRA: The residents of Noguzi and its suburban areas on Thursday urged government to ensure early carpeting of Courts Road, complaining that delay in its completion was causing serious inconvenience to them and travelers.
A group of residents, led by Nadar Khan, said that blacktopping of Courts Road, connecting half of the city and its suburbs with the bypass and Kashmir Road, had started about two months ago.
“However, the contractor has abandoned the work midway for one reason or another, and we have been suffering because of it,” said Nadar Khan. He added that the incomplete road often witnessed gridlock as two-way traffic could pass smoothly on the gravel surface.
“Lawyers and litigants commuting between different parts of the district and courts are also facing immense difficulties owing to the delay in completing this key artery,” he said.
Mr Khan said that government should immediately resume work on the project to ensure trouble-free travel for people.
