LAKKI MARWAT: The girl students outperformed boys in the annual secondary school certificate examination held under the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Bannu by clinching top positions in science and humanities groups.

The board’s controller of examination, Muhammad Farooq, announced the results at a ceremony in Bannu on Saturday which was attended by educationists, position holder students, their parents, officials of education department and educational board and heads of educational institutions.

The provincial minister for public health engineering department, Pakhtoon Yar Khan, graced the occasion as chief guest.

According to the results, Hasnain Rauf, a student of Razmak Cadet College, secured first position by obtaining 1151 marks out of 1200.

Neelam Mahmood, a student of Government Girls Centennial Model School, Lakki Marwat, grabbed second position with 1145 marks followed by Zainab Duaa Rehman of Government Girls High School No. 1, Lakki Marwat, who got third position by securing 1140 marks. In humanities group, Aiman Hussain, a student of Government Girls High School Sadarkhel, Abakhel Lakki Marwat, stood first by securing 1046 marks.

Ayesha of the same school and a private candidate Dil Daraz Khan obtained second and third positions respectively by getting 1041 and 1005 marks respectively.

The provincial minister distributed certificates and cash prizes among the position holder students and congratulated them, their parents and teachers on remarkable academic achievement.

He said that promotion of education was among top priorities of the provincial government so that quality education was ensured to every child.

“The reforms introduced by the provincial government in the education sector will help achieve this goal”, he maintained.

The chairman of the Bannu board, Prof Sifatullah Khan, also spoke on the occasion.
