DADU: Three members of a family and driver of a loader-rickshaw were killed and 10 others were injured when a tractor ran into the three-wheeler on Gorakh-Johi road at Bakhar Shaheed village near Wahi Pandhi town on Wednesday.

The deceased identified as the rickshaw driver Azan Solangi, Gulbahar Buzdar and his wife Fatima Buzdar and their relative 10-year-old Nimani, and the injured, some of whom gave their names as Durnaz, Pathani, Nababi and Qurban Buzdar, were farm workers who were returning home after working in wheat fields all the day when they met the accident.

Johi taluka hospital’s medical superintendent, Dr Zubir Ahmed, said that the injured Ms Reshma, Ms Pathani and Qurban Buzdar were later referred to Abdullah Shah Institute of Medical Sciences in Sehwan due to their critical injuries.

Drigh Bala police station’s SHO Noor Hussain Chhachhar said that according to the injured, they were returning home after harvesting wheat in riverine area and were on way to Gorakh when the accident took place.

He said that the tractor driver fled after the incident. After completion of necessary legal procedures, the bodies were handed over to heirs, he said.
