KARACHI: Another heritage building located in the salubrious part of Clifton is being partially demolished.

Taking serious notice of the demolition of the heritage Kharas House in Clifton, Sindh Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah on Wednesday directed the commissioner to conduct a detailed inquiry into the matter and submit a comprehensive report within 72 hours.

He also instructed that if any irregularities were found during the investigation into the demolition of the heritage building located on plot No. FT-4/14, Bath Island Road, strict action must be taken against the responsible individuals and officials.

The chief secretary expressed grave concern over the incident and emphasised that the protection of cultural and historical heritage was of utmost importance.

He warned that any negligence or unlawful actions concerning heritage properties will not be tolerated and will be met with appropriate legal consequences.
