KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) Chief Justice Muhammad Shafi Siddiqui on Thursday laid the foundation of a museum and inaugurated work for the expansion of judges’ library at the main SHC building.

Senior puisne judge Justice Naimatullah Phulpoto and other judges of SHC also attended the ceremony.

Officials said the SHC library maintained updated and comprehensive collections of over 55,000 legal materials, including digital databases and online resources enabling swift retrieval of information crucial for case analysis. The library is being expanded and renovated.

They said that a museum was also being set up adjacent to the library to preserve and display material and information pertaining to the legal history of the country as well as pre-independence era for future generations. Such museums had already been established at the apex court and Lahore High Court, they added.
