MITHI: In a blatant attempt to help a murder accused escape from police custody, his supporters attacked and injured three policemen after the sessions court rejected his bail.

Creating chaos, the whole episode unfolded in the court room the district and sessions judge of Mithi when supporters of Shokat Nohrio Lakho, accused in the murder case of one Nazar Lakho, attacked the police personnel.

Taking benefit of the situation, the accused tried to flee, but the policemen apprehended him. His supporters managed to escape the scene.

A case has been registered against six attackers identified as Shokat Nohrio Lakho, Yousif Nohrio, Abdul Razzaq, Munoor, Nabi Bakhsh and Manjhi Muhammad under various sections of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), including 405, 114, 477, 34 and 506.

The incident highlights the increasing instances of violence against law enforcement personnel in the region.
