ISLAMABAD: Three minors drowned in a nullah in the capital’s outskirts on Tuesday, police said.

The deceased, who were scavengers, were identified as seven-year-old Farmina, Hajra Bibi, nine, and Gul Zarin, 10, the police said.

The incident took place at a nullah in Shaheenabad at Chungi No 26.

After getting information, the police reached the spot and retrieved the bodies and later shifted them to the hospital.

The police said a watchman at a nearby building saw them when they fell into the nullah while collecting waste and rushed to rescue them but they drowned before he reached the nullah.
