SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: One person was killed and three others were injured in firing in a vegetable market near the Rustam Bazaar of Wana, the district headquarters of Lower South Waziristan, here on Monday.

Officials said members of a group opened indiscriminate fire on their rival, Zubair Wazir, killing him on the spot.

They said three other persons, Jan Mohammad, Rahim and Abdul Basit Wazir, who were passerby, were also injured in the attack.

The attackers managed to escape the area.

A police official said that a contingent reached the spot after the incident, collected evidence and started investigations.

The official said that they were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital, Wana.

The police said the groups had an enmity between them.

Wana hospital deputy medical superintendent Fazalur Rehman said that condition of all the injured persons was out of danger.
