SWAT: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz provincial president Amir Muqam on Monday claimed that his party would win the upcoming elections to form governments in both the centre and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for economic turnaround and improvement of law and order situation in the country.

“The return of Nawaz Sharif as the prime minister will bring about a new era of development in the country,” Mr Muqam told reporters in Mingora area here.

The PML-N leader said that the PML-N governments would put the nation on the path of progress and prosperity.

He criticised the Pakistan

Tehreek-i-Insaf government for “ruining every sector and bringing the economy to the brink of economic collapse”.

Mr Muqam said that his party had unprecedented support for it among the people, pointing out a growing trend of individuals from other political affiliations joining the PML-N ranks.

He also said he would contest the Feb 8 general elections for one provincial and two national assembly seats and claim a convincing victory.

“I will prefer the provincial assembly seat to address the longstanding deprivation of the people in the province because the province has

been neglected for the last 25 years with no mega development projects carried out by the governments,” he claimed.

The PML-N leader said that the PML-N hadn’t ruled Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the last 25 years and therefore, things were messy.

He said that the people’s desire for improvement in their lives would lead his party to power.

Mr Muqam said that the political journey of Prime Minister Imran Khan and his associates had reached its “logical end” and that the people had rejected those who rose up against the state.

He praised security forces, police and other people for rendering great sacrifices for peace and stability in the country.

“If we come to power, we will utilise all available resources for the development of the people,” he said.

The PML-N leader said that the party’s commitment to addressing economic challenges and ensuring stability resonated with its supporters, who were eagerly awaiting the upcoming elections to vote for it.
