ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) core committee on Saturday expressed disappointment over the delay of the court decision to transfer PTI Chairman Imran Khan from Attock to Adiala Jail and provide him food and water from home, besides delaying hearing of his bail application.

It demanded that the Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Aamer Faro­­oq should immediately disassociate himself from the cases related to the former prime minister and give a chance to impartial judges to decide his cases.

The PTI core committee condemned the “non-serious” attitude of the government regarding serious threats to the former prime minister’s health, safety and especially to his life in the jail.

The committee stated that the former prime minister was imprisoned through a “controversial and biased” court decision, adding that due to the successive wrong decisions and controversial trials, the partiality and bias of the IHC Chief Justice was now quite evident.

The statement further claimed, that the PTI core committee demanded that for the sake of justice and the reputation of the cou­rt, Justice Aamer Farooq should immediately disassociate himself from the cases related to the former prime minister and give a chance to impartial judges to decide his cases.

The participants stated that on the special instructions of Mr Khan, the core committee has condem­ned the new series of cra­ckdowns against PTI wor­kers were busy in preparations for the Independence Day celebration.

They condemned the ban on the sale of PTI flags and the worst retaliation against the party workers across the country, adding that there was no such precedent of preventing the most popular political party from celebrating the independence.

The PTI core committee vowed that they would neither bow down to cruelty and oppression nor give up their right to celebrate Independence Day or achieve the goal of true freedom.

They also examined the possibility of burning the national flag or any similar act of violence during the Independence Day celebrations, adding that no patriot can imagine the desecration of the national flag.

The PTI core committee stated that, upon Mr Khan’s special instructions, workers should keep a close watch on miscreants and advised the workers if they saw anyone bur­n­­ing or desecrating the natio­nal flag, they should arrest that person and hand them over to the police.

The PTI core committee also blamed that three major parties of the PDM admitted taking lion’s share in the interim provincial government of KP.

They said that sacking of the 26-member cabinet all of a sudden also raised many questions, adding that in this regard, many questions have arisen on the role of the Election Commission, which it will have to answer.

They said that the nation wanted an answer from those who flouted the Constitution and the law for 206 days.
