Stop body shaming people

This is with reference to the story “Stop body shaming people” by Alizeh Shoaib (YW, January 14). This is an important social topic, though rarely talked about.

I strongly request every reader to please do not judge anyone by their physical appearance, it is possible that some people might have some serious internal issues.

For instance, obese people have to face a lot of criticism from the people around them.

Obesity is a big health issue and when we see any obese person, we should never ask them the reason for their physical health, as they are already facing different issues due to it and are sensitive about their weight.

So we must always be polite to people around us.

Are you a good listener?

This is with reference to the cover article “Are you a good listener?” by Rizwana Naqvi (YW, January 21). Listening is an important aspect of communication.

If we don’t pay attention to our surroundings, or if we don’t listen to what others are saying, there will be a communication gab.

For instance, we may miss important points in the lecture, or we may miss something important our parents have said.

I am a student, and after reading this article, I have got to know the significance of being all ears during lectures and at home with our parents and siblings.

I will try to be a good listener and benefit from it.

Precious friendship

This is regarding the story “A precious friendship” by Yusra Tahir (YW, January 12). Friendship is a divine relationship which is not defined by blood, but feelings and sincerity.

A life without having a friend is incomplete and honesty is the most important factor to maintain true friendship. One should never give way to negativity in friendship, as it only ends with a regret.

One of the biggest reasons for losing a precious friendship is jealousy among friends, especially when they start competing with each other in any field. And as one gets ahead of the other, the latter starts feeling jealous and this was elaborated nicely in the story “A precious friendship” by Yusra Tahir.

In my opinion, it is an honour to have a successful friend and someone to get inspiration from.
