LAHORE: In a late night development on Monday, a massive reshuffle occurred in top bureaucracy of Punjab as the chief secretary (CS), the inspector general of police (IGP) and the Lahore capital city police officer were transferred.

The newly installed caretaker Punjab government got Senior Member Board of Revenue (SMBR) Zahid Akhtar Zaman transferred and posted as chief secretary. Mr Zaman has replaced Abdullah Khan Sumbal. The federal government issued the transfer and posting orders of the new CS.

Mr Zaman has also served as an additional secretary cabinet division and additional chief secretary south Punjab.

On the other hand, the federal government transferred IGP Aamir Zulfiqar and appointed Dr Usman Anwar as his replacement. According to a notification, the centre asked Mr Zulfiqar to report to the Establishment Division in Islamabad.

Dr Anwar was performing his duties in National Highways and Motorway Police. He remained posted at CTD Punjab while he served as SSP Operations Faisalabad, CID and Chief Traffic Officer Rawalpindi. He performed duties in the PM’s Office in Islamabad, DPO Okara, DPO Sargodha, Telecommuni-cation and Elite Police.

In yet another development, Lahore CCPO Ghulam Mahmood Dogar has been replaced with Bilal Siddique Kamyana.

Regarding the CCPO’s post, a notification says: “Mr Ghulam Mahmood Dogar (PSP/BS-21), Capital City Police Officer, Lahore, is hereby transferred, with immediate effect, and directed to report to the Services and General Administration Department, Government of Punjab, for further orders.”

Mr Kamyana, awaiting posting, has replaced him.
