ISLAMABAD: Veteran journalist Shahnaz Tatari was laid to rest at the H-8 graveyard on Monday.

She had breathed her last on Sunday following a cardiac arrest at the age of 70.

Ms Tatari was the wife of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Syed Abrar Rizvi and mother of journalist Kashif Rizvi.

A large number of people belonging to different walks of life attended her funeral.

Speaking to Dawn, Abrar Rizvi said his wife remained associated with daily Jang for a long period of time before moving to daily Azkar.

Meanwhile, PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari expressed his sorrow and grief over the death of Shahnaz Tatari.

In his condolence message, Mr Zardari prayed for the departed soul and for granting courage to the bereaved family to bear the loss.

“PPP shares the grief of Abrar Rizvi’s family,” he said.
