KARACHI: The Karachi Development Authority will take legal action against the elements involved in hindering an ongoing anti-encroachment operation to vacate state land from ‘illegal’ occupants.

Official sources said that the anti-encroachment operation was being carried out in several residential sche­mes and townships across the city and encroachment had been removed in different areas.

KDA spokesman Akram Sattar said a number of illegal constructions had been demolished during the past one week in Wahid Colony and Mujahid Colony on the instruction of KDA DG Muhammad Ali Shah. A moni­toring system had been devis­ed to protect the vaca­ted properties, he added.
