First Pokemon Scarlet and Violet update released

Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet aren’t even out yet on the Nintendo Switch, but the games have already gotten their first update ahead of their launch, complete with a set of patch notes.

This follows the start of the preload period for Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet, that let players get a head start on the launch of the games so that they can get right to playing once the Pokemon pair releases.

The Pokemon Company said this update includes “Several bug fixes and adjustments have been made so that you can play the game comfortably.”

This means some bugs and issues will hopefully be cleared up. But for those still looking to learn more about the games until the launch, you’ll be best off sticking to those official channels.

Avatar: The Way of Water final trailer released

The final trailer of the highly anticipated Avatar sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water is here.

Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, Avatar: The Way of Water tells the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their kids), the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive and the tragedies they endure.

According to the movie’s acclaimed director, James Cameron, “The goal is to tell an extremely compelling story on an emotional basis. The emphasis in the new film is more on character, more on story, more on relationships, more on emotion. We didn’t spend as much time on relationship and emotion in the first film as we do in the second film, and it’s a longer film.” Avatar: The Way of Water lands in theatres on December 16th.

Marvel’s Blade reboot reveals new director and writer

Mahershala Ali’s Blade reboot has found its next Helmer. Weeks after Bassam Tariq parted the project over creative differences, Marvel Studios has hired Yann Demange to direct the film and Michael Starrbury will write the latest iteration of a script.

“Blade’s been a beautiful ride,” Tariq wrote after departing the project. “At this moment, I’m filled with love and gratitude toward the folks at Marvel as well [as] the incredible crew and cast we assembled. I’m eager to see how the next director builds on the foundation we’ve set.”

The film has suffered plenty of setbacks, including a year-long delay earlier this fall. Now, the film isn’t expected to begin production until later next year with a fall 2024 release date.
