KARACHI: A fire broke out in a multi-storey building off I.I. Chundrigar Road on Monday, which caused damages to property, but no injury to human life was reported, police and fire officials said.

They said that the blaze erupted in Techno City Mall located on Hasrat Mohani Road in New Chali. It was controlled by around half a dozen fire engines after hectic efforts lasting for several hours.

The building was evacuated from the people.

Mithadar SHO Malik Adil Khan said that the fire took place on the sixth floor of the building.

He said ‘computer hardware’ was damaged in the fire, but the exact estimation of financial losses could not be made.

Quoting the initial report of firemen, the police said an electrict short-circuit was the likely cause of the fire.
