KARACHI: Four members of a family were shot at and wounded by armed robbers over resistance in the Sachal area early on Wednesday morning, police said.

Area SHO Auragzeb Khattak said that the family members were having Sehri at a restaurant near Madras Chowk when four armed men riding two motorbikes emerged there and held them at gunpoint.

The children and female members of the family raised hue and cry upon which the robbers resorted to firing, resulting in bullet injuries to four persons.

He said the one of the persons present at the restaurant fired at the muggers with his licensed pistol. A suspect suffered bullet wounds but his accomplice took him and fled without looting anything.

The wounded were shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where they were identified as Ahmed, Manzar Faisal, Manahil Sami and Aziz Khan.

The police said their condition was out of danger.
