RAWALPINDI:Three persons died of Covid-19, 44 people tested positive and 97 patients recovered from the disease in the district on Thursday.

The deceased were identified as Razia Sultana, 72, resident of Dhoke Lakhan Dhamial Camp, Nishat Ahmed, 37, of Dhoke Gujari Chak Beli Khan Road, and Mohammad Zaman, 82, of Satellite Town.

According to the health authority data, the positivity ratio in the district was recorded at 3.60pc. A total of 1,220 samples were collected and 1,176 of them were declared negative.

In Rawalpindi district, there are 655 active patients - 78 in hospitals and 577 home isolated.

Five of the patients reported from different parts of Rawalpindi and Chaklala Cantonment, nine from city areas and 15 from Potohar Town.

Moreover, four patients arrived from Gujar Khan, four from Islamabad, two from AJK and Taxila and one patient each from Chakwal, Murree and Attock.

There are 78 patients admitted in different hospitals - patients at Benazir Bhutto Hospital, 10 at Holy Family Hospital, 25 at Fauji Foundation Hospital, 36 at Rawalpindi Institute of Urology, two at Hearts International Hospital and one at Begum Akhter Sultana Memorial Trust Hospital.

There are five patients on ventilators, 48 patients on oxygen and 25 are stable.

Islamabad

The federal capital reported 141 cases with the positivity rate of 3.37pc.

Officials of the capital administration said during the last 24 hours 4,176 tests were conducted and 75 males and 66 females tested positive.

The officials said 32 cases each were reported in the age group of 20-29 and 30-39, followed by 24 in 40-49, 16 in 60-69, 15 in 50-59, nine in 10-19, six in 0-9, three in 70-79 and four in 80 and above.

Likewise, 13 cases were reported from Rawat, six each from I-8 and G-11, five from F-8, four each from F-10, F-11 and G-10, three each from F-7, E-11 and G-9, two each from G-5, G-8, Tarlai and Bhara Kahu and one each from Loi Bher, Sohan, D-12, G-15, Khanna, Kurri, Model Town Humak, Sihala, Chak Shahzad, E-7, I-14 and I-11.

There are 1,581 active patients in the capital, out of which 97 are admitted in different hospitals and 86 of them are on oxygen and eight on ventilators.
