Whether you are in school, college or university, you all want to make your assignments as best as you can — assignments or projects that stand out from the rest. And when it comes to communicating ideas or giving presentations, illustrations are often regarded as a very useful tool.

Illustrations help you reinforce a concept and highlight exactly what you want to convey to your audience. With illustrations, drawing attention and standing out from competition is a piece of cake; this is where Storyset — a website which provides free, customisable illustrations comes in very handy.

The site is free and doesn’t need you to register. Open the site, use the search bar or tags to find content of your choice, or choose from the available illustration styles: Rafiki, Bro, Amico, Pana or Cuate.

You can make clean flat illustrations with versatility, that makes them suitable for any project in Rafiki; or go for a casual style with a retro touch in Bro. You can choose isometric illustrations in Amico or go for hand drawn details in Pana if not all that, choose Cuate, illustrations with crazy proportions.

After choosing the style, a new page opens up with hundreds of illustrated concepts to make your landing page, app, or presentation more attractive.

On the left side of the screen, you will see a panel with the options to edit the illustration. You can change the colour, hide the layers that you don’t need and, depending on the chosen style, pick a simple background, a detailed one or remove it altogether. When you’re done, download it as an SVG or PNG image. But if you want more the illustration, you are given option to ‘animate it’; so when you are done animating, export it as an HTML, GIF or MP4 video formats.

After you have finished making an illustration of your choice for your project, use the export link to download the animated images as GIFs or videos. Illustrations are available to download as SVG or PNG files. And one of the good things I really liked about the site is that even after downloading the illustration, we are able to edit them with any vector graphics editor programme.

Storyset is a free website, however, the site requests its visitors to include proper attribution when using any illustrations from the site.

So power up your next project with cool illustrations from https://storyset.com/
