First spacecraft ‘touches’ the sun

Nasa’s Parker Solar Probe has become the first spacecraft in history to ‘touch’ the sun, officials said.

The probe flew through the sun’s upper atmosphere, the corona, and took some particle samples. The agency called it a ‘monumental’ moment and a ‘giant leap for solar science.’

Because it’s closer to the sun than any man-made craft has gotten, the Parker Space Probe is able to see things on the sun that other spacecraft were too far away to pick up. Getting so close will help scientists uncover new information about the Earth’s closest star and its effects on the solar system.

The spacecraft was launched in 2018, decades after it was first conceived. It took three years to arrive at the sun and has travelled closer to the G-type main-sequence star than any of its predecessors.

Sleek sneaker collection from Pokemon

The Pokemon Company has released a new line of sneakers for diehard fans. The collection made its debut overseas on Pokemon’s official Japanese store. Some of Galar’s top trainers are getting their shoes produced in real life. So if you ever wanted to walk a mile in Raihan’s shoes, your time has come.

Right now, the collection includes a good few trainers such as Raihan, Leon and even Marnie. Sadly, the latter’s shoes do not have any spikes on them, but their metal detailing is spot on. Marnie would be proud to rock the black leather pieces, and we’re sure her brother would agree.

There are other sneakers available through Japan’s official store. A slew of shoes has debuted based on Pokemon like Cinderace, Togepi, Ditto, Mimikyu, and Zigzagoon.

Sonic the Hedgehog Nintendo Switch controller revealed

Sonic the Hedgehog fans will soon get an opportunity to own an awesome new controller option for the Nintendo Switch! The latest in Hori’s line of Split Pad Pro controllers for the system will feature Sega’s blue blur in a gorgeous design, featuring the character’s trademark colour pattern. While the controller is not manufactured by Nintendo, it is fully licensed by the company, as well as by Sega. The controller is set to release on January 31st.

The Split Pad Pro is a design intended for players with bigger hands, or just those that want something bulkier than traditional Switch Joy-Cons. However, there are a number of additional differences. Most notably, the Split Pad Pro only works in handheld mode. It’s also missing some other features, including motion controls, HD Rumble, NFC support (amiibo), and the IR camera.
