LAHORE: Punjab reported 1,031 new Covid cases and 21 deaths during the last 24 hours, taking the total number to 424,702 and 12,468, respectively.

Of the fresh cases, 480 were reported in Lahore, 121 in Sargodha, 71 in Rawalpindi, 65 in Faisalabad, 54 in Mianwali, 36 in Multan, etc.

According to the official Covid update released here on Wednesday, the overall positive percentage was recorded 5.7 in Punjab.

It was reported 7pc in Lahore, 5.2pc in Rawalpindi, 7.8pc in Faisalabad, 5.6pc in Multan and 2.2pc in Gujranwala.

Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department Secretary Imran Sikandar Baloch said the province-wide vaccination campaign is successfully under way to achieve the target population.

He said 414,209 people were vaccinated against Covid during the last 24 hours in Punjab, bringing the total number to 42,648,760.
