QUETTA: A meeting of Divisional Task Force on Polio Campaign was held here on Thursday to review the polio situation across the province.

Quetta Division Commissioner Sohail-ur-Rehman Baloch, who presided over the meeting, expressed displeasure over reports that a number of children in Quetta, Pishin and Qila Abdullah could not be administered polio drops due to various reasons.

The deputy commissioners of Pishin and Qila Abdullah, district health officers of both the districts and other officials concerned attended the meeting.

Mr Baloch told the participants that a comprehensive action plan for polio should be formulated so that no child was deprived of immunisation during the polio campaign while a report on the implementation of this action plan should be presented at the next meeting.

He asked officers of the polio team to contact their deputy commissioners, doctors, UCMs and all union councils and take steps to eradicate the contagious virus.

The meeting decided that if a government employee refused to get his child vaccinated, action would be taken against him and his salary would be stopped.
