LAHORE: Six members of two families including children died and as many people were injured when the roof of their house collapsed at Shadbagh late on Thursday.

The incident took place at populated area of Wasanpura where two families were living. Rescue teams along with police rushed to the site and launched the operation.

Rescue 1122 confirmed death of six members of two families — Rizwan, 35, Mehwish 30, Ibrahim, 8, Minahil, 6, Sumera, 55, and Rabia, 18.

A police official said six other trapped people had been evacuated and shifted to hospital. He said the families were living in a dilapidated house.
