SUKKUR: Jacobabad police on Thursday registered an FIR on behalf of state against 250 miscreants, who attacked a team of National Accountability Bureau officials when they tried to raid the residence of adviser to chief minister Aijaz Jakhrani in Jacobabad, but did not include in the case the name of Jakhrani’s son who was reportedly leading the attackers.
Police lodged the case at Civil Lines police station against Zafar Ali Buriro, Khadim Hussain Bhutto, Waseem Jakhrani and 250 others under relevant sections of CrPC. The FIR accused the suspects of issuing threats to the NAB team, smashing windows of official vehicles and interfering in official duty, said sources.
The NAB officials did not go to the police station to get the FIR lodged after the incident while NAB Sukkur Inspector Abdul Razzaq Sirohi had submitted an application to Jacobabad SSP for registration of the case, accusing Rafay Jakhrani, son of Aijaz Jakhrani, of leading the attackers but police did not include his name in the FIR.
No culprit had been arrested after registration of the case, said sources.
The sources said that NAB Sukkur officials informed the bureau’s chairman about the case registered by Jacobabad police and pointed out that police had not included names of Aijaz Jakhrani and his son in the FIR.
