ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Law and Justice Barrister Dr Farogh Naseem on Sunday stressed that implementation of laws should be equal both for the elite and the poor as the present system served only the rich and neglected the poor.

The minister expressed these views while speaking at a grant-in-aid cheque distribution ceremony of bar associations at the law ministry here.

Dr Naseem said Prime Minister Imran Khan had promoted the culture of equality and appointed capable, educated and upright people and started a journey towards Naya Pakistan.

Farogh regrets poor segments of society suffering under current system

He said the law ministry was always ready to support anyone without any discrimination and every individual could seek help without mentioning religion, language, race and political affiliation as these were not relevant for the prime minister and the law ministry.

The minister said he would not support anything against the Constitution, rule of law, fundamental human rights and constitutionalism, but there were some issues which could be debated.

He said the ministry was working to redress the issues of common man and compensation could be made through legislation, but legislation alone did not work without proper implementation of laws.

Later, the minster handed over grant-in-aid cheques to representatives of 110 bar associations and bar councils of the country.
