KP chief minister hopes PTI will win next polls on basis of performance

HARIPUR: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has said that government is utilising its resources for improving the living standard of the people who, reposed confidence in the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan and helped his party to win the elections in 2018.

He was talking to journalists at the residence of PTI leader and former provincial minister Yousuf Ayub Khan here on Tuesday.

He hoped that people would repose confidence in Imran Khan’s party on the basis of its performances and help it to win the next elections.

Federal Minister Omar Ayub Khan, Provincial Minister Akbar Ayub Khan and MPA Arshad Ayub Khan were also present on the occasion.

The chief minister said that as per the vision of Imran Khan, who was committed to making the country an Islamic welfare state, the government was taking practical steps to improve the living standard of the people.

“The health coverage to all citizens of the province, Ehsas programme, Langar Khanas, shelter homes and now Rahmatul Lil Aalameen scholarship programme are the projects meant to translate the idea of Riasat-i-Madinah into reality,” he said.

Mr Khan said that efforts for creating employment opportunities, developing industrial zones, ensuring road connectivity and reforming the education system were the few practical steps taken by the government.

Appreciating the development model of Haripur, he vowed to replicate it in other parts of the province. He also urged media to educate people about the welfare projects of the government.

On the requests of members of Haripur Press Club and Haripur Union of Journalists, the chief minister announced setting up Haripur media colony in Pharhala village.

He also announced medical college for Haripur and upgradation of district headquarters hospital to Category-A besides approving 640 posts in police for the district.

He held separate meetings with lawyers, traders and religious scholars and assured them of addressing their genuine problems. He also administered oath to the newly elected office-bearers of PTI.

Earlier, the chief minister inaugurated different projects in various parts of the district. These projects include Shah Maqsood to Kohala Bala and Pir Sohawa road, bypass road, Ali Khan to Chungi No.11, city bypass road, government girls centennial model higher secondary school and Rescue 1122 office.

BODY: The mutilated body of a man was found in the forest of Beer union council.

Police said that villagers spotted the body and informed them. The body was shifted to Haripur Trauma Centre where the family members identified the deceased as Mohammad Azeem, a resident of Kheri Mari.

The deceased had been missing for the last four months. The cause of his death could not be ascertained.

KILLED: A factory worker was killed after he was hit by iron bar.

Police said that Irshad Gul was working near the furnace of a steel manufacturing industry in Hattar when his left leg was hit by a steel bar.

The factory administration shifted him to Taxila Tehsil Headquarters Hospital but he could not survive due to excessive bleeding.
