GUJAR KHAN: A man was arrested by Gujar Khan police on charges of sexually assaulting a seven-year-old boy on Saturday. According to details, mother of the victim reported to Gujar Khan police that his son went to a nearby shop.

She said when he did not return for long she went out in search for him and found him in an under construction house along with the man.

SHO Gujar Khan Zaheer Butt registered a case and arrested the suspect.

City Police Officer Ahsan Younis said strict action would be taken against the suspects involved in the sexual assault of women and children.

Two murder suspects held

Mandra police have arrested two suspects including a father who gunned down his son in Jajja village last week.

According to DSP Gujar Khan Malik Rifaqat, the suspect Jameel Akhter along with his elder brother Nadeem Akhterhad killed his son Haroon Akhter and shot injured his wife Nighat over some domestic issue.

Shops gutted

Several shops in Rawat fruit market were gutted in fire in which four people also received burn injuries on Saturday.

According to Rescue 1122, fire erupted in the market along the G.T. Road at 11:20am.

The Rescue 1122 officer said four injured were shifted to the hospital.

Short circuit is said to be the primary cause of fire according to the witnesses.
