Podany to star in Powerpuff Girls’ TV series

The CW has found its main antagonist for its Powerpuff Girls” TV series. Nicholas Podany will play Joseph “Jojo” Mondel Jr., better known as the son of Mojo Jojo, the villainous chimpanzee that frequently battled the Powerpuff Girls.

As a kid, the nerdy, power-hungry, insecure JoJo was obsessed with the Powerpuff Girls, despite his father’s grudge against them. As an adult, JoJo finds his sweetness and rage in constant battle.

For those not familiar with the comics, Mojo was Professor Utonium’s lab assistant and accidentally helped to create the Powerpuff Girls and gave him an enlarged brain. Mojo quickly became jealous of all the attention the girls were getting, and he subsequently turned to evil.

Animation films-themed water park!

Two of Sony Pictures Animation’s biggest franchises, Hotel Transylvania and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, are making their theme park debuts in a newly announced partnership between Sony Pictures and Thailand-based attractions company Amazon Falls.

Aquaverse is an existing water park in the seaside town of Bangsaray, and Amazon Falls will revamp it with some of Columbia Pictures’ most recognisable properties. In addition to the animated films, there will be eight themed zones, with a range of both water- and land-based attractions including, Men in Black Thrill Rides, Ghostbusters Supernatural Experience, Bad Boys Raceway, Jumanji Jungle Adventure, Hotel Transylvania Kid-Friendly Zone, Surf’s Up in Surfer’s Paradise, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs Swallow Falls River Adventure and Vivo Wave Pool.

Meet the Mini-Pufts in Ghostbusters

Ghostbusters: Afterlife will haunt theatres November 11, and Sony revealed a few details about the next instalment. The producers have dropped a scene from the movie featuring Paul Rudd, aka Mr Grooberson, having a bizarre encounter with the Mini-Pufts.

The little, poofy white creatures made their appearance in 2016’s Ghostbusters: Deviations by IDW Publishing Comics. They are now ready for their live-action debut, albeit slightly different in appearance, possibly with a new origin. In the story, Paul Rudd’s Mr Grooberson is a summer schoolteacher who was a kid when the “Manhattan Crossrip” occurred. The story connects back to 1984’s bizarre incident in New York and features appearances from most of Ghostbusters’ original cast. Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver and Annie Potts should reprise their roles from the first two Ghostbusters movies, much to the long-term fans’ delight.
