HARIPUR: Hazara region police officer Mirvais Niaz has said the provincial government has approved additional strength of police for the Haripur district to help improve the force’s performance here.

He was speaking to the participants of a police darbar here the other day where the retired police officers and families of the martyred and serving police officers and jawans were in attendance.

Since it was his first visit to Haripur after his transfer to Hazara, the RPO was presented a guard of honour. He visited the Yadgar-i-Shuhada in the police lines and offered Fateha for the departed souls.

Mr Niaz said providing relief to the public was priority of the police, and with the approval of additional strength of about 650 personnel operational capacities of the force would improve in Haripur. He asked the policemen to exhibit courtesy while dealing with complainants visiting the police stations.

He said besides keeping check on criminal activities he would utilise his professional capacities to ensure smooth flow of traffic on the roads of Hazara and eradication of violence against children.

He announced the revival and strengthening of “Heroes of Hazara Trust” that was established last year by former DIG Dr Mazarul Haq Kakakhel and vowed to extend his maximum cooperation and support to the families of the martyred policemen.
