ISLAMABAD: Dr Syed Mustafa Tanweer was appointed on Monday as SSP operations of Islamabad police.

Earlier, he was given additional charge of SSP operations on Jan 14.

After the appointment of Dr Tanweer, a grade 18 officer, the capital police got regular SSP operations after almost two years.

As per the notification issued by Establishment Division, “Dr Tanweer, a BS-18 officer of Police Service of Pakistan presently serving in Islamabad police is transferred and posted as SSP Operation in Islamabad police under interior division, in his own pay and scale with immediate effect and until further orders.

Dr Tanweer served in capital police in different capacities, including SP Rural, SP Investigation and SSP Counter Terrorism Department.”

During General Election 2018, he was transferred to the Punjab police.

Later, he again transferred to capital police after the elections.

The post of SSP operations has been lying vacant since Jan 29, 2019, after the then SSP operations Dr Waqaruddin Syed was promoted and appointed as DIG operations. DIG Syed looked after the office of SSP operations till Jan 14.
