NAWABSHAH: A woman was axed to death by her son in Sakrand on Tuesday for so-called honour.

The accused was identified as Aijaz Manganhar and his mother as Sahib Khatoon, 45. Sakrand police claimed to have arrested the accused and recovered the murder weapon.

Initially the body was taken to Sakrand taluka hospital for a post-mortem, but later shifted to the rural health centre for want of a lady doctor. After the autopsy, it was handed over to the relatives.

Aijaz told the police that he killed his mother in a fit of anger when saw her with a relative inside their home.
