BAJAUR: The Bajaur district administration here on Monday sealed eight medicines and grocery stores for being run by unlicensed persons and selling expired and substandard items.

Nawagai subdivision assistant commissioner Habibullah Khan Wazir told mediapersons that the stores were sealed in different areas of Mamond tehsil during a raid.

Similarly, the official said some sealed stores were also found violating the official price list.

Meanwhile, the district administration has arrested scores of transporters for overloading on Monday.

Talking to reporters, Khar subdivision assistant commissioner Fazal Raheem said the transporters, mostly the drivers of non-custom paid cars, were held from several areas.

He said a number of transporters were arrested for not properly seating the women and children.
