MOHMAND: Inspector General of Police, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sanaullah Abbasi said here on Thursday that new recruitment would be made in the police soon in which local people would be given priority.

He was talking to mediapersons after inspecting the ongoing training of personnel at the police training centre under the supervision of Pakistan Army and Mohmand Rifles in Bahi Dag, Baizai tehsil, here.

He was accompanied by regional police officer, Mardan region, Sher Akbar Khan.

Mr Abbasi said that at present 250 personnel were being provided training in Mohmand. He inspected the practical training and praised the personnel for their excellent performance in shooting.

He told mediapersons that Khasadars and Levies forces from all merged districts had been integrated into the police force. He said that special package would be given to families of 89 police martyrs of Mohmand district.

“Pension would be given to over 60 officers retiring before and after the police integration and their children will be recruited in the police,” he said.

Mr Abbasi said that all the 2,088 personnel of Mohmand district had been integrated into police in which 1,900 personnel were present while the remaining had been given one week notice to ensure their presence.

He also awarded certificates and shields to the officers showing good performance. He said that new police stations would soon be opened in Prang Ghar and Pandiali tehsil. He said that 78 vehicles had been provided to the police in the newly-merged districts.
