KARACHI: Golimar Police last evening [July 26] confirmed the arrest of 18 persons in connection with quadruple murder near Muslim League Quarters on Saturday. Police said the condition of injured Ashraf was still critical. Seven other persons injured in the free-for-all were showing improvement....

The Additional Inspector-General of Police, Mr M.Y. Orakzai, has transferred the officer-in-charge of Golimar Police Station and has posted SHO Ferozabad in his place. He has asked the outgoing SHO to arrest the main accused by tomorrow morning or take up position at Police Headquarters as punishment. However, if the arrest takes place he would be posted at the Ferozabad Police Station.

The Deputy Commission was present in Civil Hospital when the family members of the deceased came to collect the body yesterday. The DC assured them that necessary action against the accused and the defaulting Police officials would be taken.... — Correspondent
