Whenever we visit the seaside, we often find seashells scattered among the garbage on the shore. Of course, seashells are very attractive and I am sure many of you would agree with me that we grab a few on our way back, this is what I did quite some time ago, and recently I have an idea to make something interesting and decorative for my home.

This is a rope and seashells

wreath for the main door or any wall. The craft doesn’t need a lot of things, but if you want to decorate it more, you can add for more beads, flowers and shells of different sizes and types.

Things you need:

  1. Seashells, at least six

  2. Shining beads

  3. White cotton rope

  4. Cardboard piece (depends

on the size of the wreath you want to make). I used 12 inches wide, 12 inches long piece and cut out the circle using anything circular of the same size.

  1. Plastic leaves or small plants (optional)

  2. Hot glue

  3. Scissors

Directions:

  1. Cut out a circle from the cardboard, make it into a ring shape; the width of this cardboard ring must be two-inches wide, picture 2.

  2. Start pasting the rope firmly from the edge of the ring, pictures, 3 and 4.

  3. Keep gluing the rope carefully without leaving any space between the rings of the rope until you cover the whole ring, picture5.

  4. Put seashells and beads in a pattern on the now roped-ringed, and see how you can arrange them to form a beautiful design, picture 6.

  5. Paste shells one-by-one and beads with hot glue, be very careful or ask an adult to do, picture 7.

  6. When you are done decorating the wreath, take 12-inches long piece of the same rope and make a loop, picture 8

  7. Place the rope loop in the centre of the wreath, picture 9.

  8. Keep the loop on the front side of the wreath and turn both the ends of the rope to the backside of the wreath and pull them out from the front of the loop, see picture 10 carefully.

  9. Fasten the loop and turn both ends of the rope in opposite sides, taking them behind the wreath, picture 11.

  10. Paste hot glue to secure the rope loop, picture 12.

Your rope and seashells wreath is ready!
