SUKKUR: The Sindh High Court Sukkur bench on Tuesday reserved its verdict on the bail application of former leader of the opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah.

Mr Shah, along with 18 of his close relatives and associates, has been facing charges of having accumulated assets beyond means in a mega-corruption reference filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). He was arrested on Sept 18, 2019 and since then has been under police custody though he was admitted to the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD), Sukkur, a few days later for treatment.

A two-judge bench comprising Justice Amjad Hussain Sahito and Justice Shamsuddin Abbasi heard the prosecution and defence lawyers over the last few weeks and reserved its order on the bail application on Tuesday. Mr Shah had been brought to the high court by ambulance on each date of the hearing of his bail application.
