Thomas and Friends 75th anniversary

Peter Andre, Spencer Matthews and Harry Judd have teamed up to deliver a digital story showcase, Reading with Friends, to mark the 75th anniversary celebrations of Thomas & Friends.

The three fathers read aloud a story from the first book up to current day stories to celebrate Thomas’ journey so far. The videos of the celebrities are hosted on the official Thomas & Friends UK YouTube channel.

Reading with Friends is designed to highlight the tales featuring important life lessons for children that have remained at the heart of Thomas & Friends, since the books were first created in 1945, when the first Railway Series written by Reverend W. Awdry was published.

The series of three videos are available on the Thomas & Friends UK YouTube channel.

PBS KIDS offers free resources during school closures

With schools closing across the world to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic, PBS KIDS has launched a daily email newsletter to provide free resources to parents coping with educating children at home. It offers educational activities designed to keep children engaged and create opportunities for both learning and playtime during this uncertain time.

For example, the launch edition invites families to explore creative problem-solving with Pinkalicoius & Peterrific, make art and stories with a new game called Scribbles & Ink, create your own board game or flex your storytelling muscles with a printable worksheet. The emails also include informative articles for parents to help them guide and understand their children’s learning process.
