Adorable puppy dubbed Disney princess

Recently, Winnie the English cocker spaniel puppy has won over the internet and the attention all comes down to one thing — her amazing eyes.

The adorable dog, who was born back in October 2019, is attracting attention because of her huge hazel-coloured eyes which are framed with long fluttery eyelashes. Winnie also counts celebrities as some of her biggest fans, with singer Rita Ora recently sharing photos of her on her Instagram stories.

And she’s also received one of the best compliments ever, by being compared to a Disney princess. A recent snap of Winnie, sitting on a tile floor, looking directly up at the camera with wide eyes, sparked the comparison — but left some people questioning whether or not she was actually real.

Her pretty face has also attracted several business opportunities, according to her owners, Ellée and Tom.

World’s longest cake

A team of bakers in India broke a Guinness World Record with a cake measuring 17,388 feet long — more than three miles.

Guinness confirmed the Bakers Association Kerala, or BAKE, set up the lengthy dessert on long tables in the streets of Thrissur, India.

The record-keeping organisation said the cake was long enough to beat the previous record, a 10,461-foot, 4.26-inch cake made in China in 2018.

Retirement home for elderly cats

Kittens are adorable and tiny, but elderly cats are equally wonderful. To give our older feline pals the love they deserve, a woman named Laura Cassiday, decided to start her own retirement home for old and sick cats who would otherwise be put down.

Laura and her husband Cody, look after up to 10 old cats at one time. They’ve helped more than 100 cats since they started the home five years ago. Laura said: “I take on elderly cats, people don’t want. They’re the ones that are first in line to be euthanised because they are old or they have health problems and they are the hardest to re-home because of that. I think of my house as a retirement home for cats, between leaving the shelter to finding their forever home.”

Watch out for the falling iguanas!

The National Weather Service, warned people in South Florida of the possibility of falling iguanas in advance of cold weather.

“This isn’t something we usually forecast, but don’t be surprised if you see iguanas falling from the trees tonight as lows drop into the 30s and 40s [degrees Fahrenheit],” the Miami National Weather Service office wrote in a tweet.

The NWS noted that iguanas are cold-blooded animals and slow down or become immobile when the weather drops below 40 degrees.

Iguanas often rest and take shelter in trees and can potentially fall from their perches while in this state.

“They may fall from trees, but they’re not dead,” the NWS said.
