Meet Potato, the googly-eyed cat

This cat has eyes not only different, but quite weird that no one can miss noticing them! And this has made the cat, named Potato, pretty famous on the social media.

Potato’s owner Ashley Norlien adopted her two years ago and, like many owners, couldn’t resist uploading a few snaps of her new pet online.

As Potato’s social media presence climbed, his owner noticed he was getting more and more comments about his ‘different’ eyes.

Potato, now five years old, has amassed over 50,000 followers. Despite the huge number of people marvelling over the feline’s eyes, Ashley admits that she has no idea why Potato looks the way he does.

Whatever the reason behind Potato’s googly eyes, he makes his fans smile every time they see his weird-cum-serious glare.

Puppy with an extra tail on his face

A puppy in the care of a Missouri non-profit organisation is going viral after the photos and videos posted online showed the extra tail he has growing out of his face, making him a ‘furry unicorn.’

The puppy was dubbed Narwhal, the little magical furry unicorn after being found living on the streets with frostbite. The rescue said Narwhal’s frostbite is healing now and he appears to be in good health, save for some common worms that are being cleared up with treatment.

The puppy’s viral fame has led to an influx of attention from animal lovers seeking to adopt Narwhal.

Hotel Nutella contest

The makers of the popular sandwich spread Nutella announced a contest to win a two-night stay at a pop-up hotel themed around the hazelnut treat.

The Hotella Nutella will operate for only a single weekend in January, and the Napa Valley, California, accommodation will be open only to three contest winners and one guest each.

The contest, which calls on applicants to submit a one-minute video explaining why they should be chosen, offers prizes of two nights at the Hotella Nutella, round-trip airfare, transportation from the airport to the hotel and a Nutella “breakfast experience” each morning of the January 10-12 stay.

The videos will be judged “based on creativity, passion for Nutella and connection to breakfast,” the company said.

Around the world in 218 days

A pair of British doctors broke a Guinness World Record by riding over 18,000 miles across the world on a tandem bicycle in 218 days, 22 hours, Guinness announced.

The pair, who both work as doctors in Australia, set off from Adelaide, South Australia, August 7, 2018, and finished their journey May 16, 2019.

The men rode more than 18,000 miles across Australia, Asia, Europe and North America to raise money for Spinal Research and the Brain Foundation.

“The entire journey was littered with mechanical failures and makeshift repairs,” Collier said. “Cycling through India in particular, we became incredibly inventive in fixing mechanical components in non-conventional ways,” told the doctors.
