AS per an old joke, a teacher asked a student: “We should always ask God almighty for forgiveness of our sins. Before that, what should we do?” The student replied: “We should commit sins first.”

The same joke applies to the recently announced amnesty scheme, which is nothing but ‘become corrupt, amass illegal wealth/black money and then make this money white through the amnesty scheme’.

In other words one should share this black money with the government, making it a partner in this corruption.

The bottom line is that such amnesty schemes promote corruption.
