Sonic the Hedgehog re-imagined in first live-action movie

Sonic the Hedgehog races into the real world in the first trailer for Paramount’s upcoming live-action film based on the iconic video game character.

The clip showcases Sonic’s new look, which includes a furry body, different-shaped eyes and muscular legs. The speedster is brought to life through the use of CGI graphics.

Sonic, voiced by Ben Schwartz, is enjoying life on Earth until he accidentally creates an energy surge that knocks out power throughout the Pacific Northwest of the U.S.

The US government calls in the villainous Dr Robotnik (Jim Carrey) for help and Sonic, along with his new human friend Tom (James Marsden), then battles Dr Robotnik and his collection of deadly machines.

Sonic the Hedgehog, from director Jeff Fowler, is set to arrive in theatres on November 8.

Fantastic Beasts 3 scheduled for November 2021 release

Warner Bros. have announced that the third film in its Harry Potter prequel series, Fantastic Beasts, will arrive in theatres on November 12, 2021.

Harry Potter creator and author J.K. Rowling penned the first two Fantastic Beasts... films, which were directed by David Yates. Fantastic Beasts 3 is a part of a planned five-film series. Production on the third instalment is expected to begin in spring 2020.

“We are incredibly excited about and have confidence in the Fantastic Beasts series,” Warner Bros. Pictures group Chairman Toby Emmerich said in a statement. “We all believe this release date will give the filmmakers time and space to allow their artistry to truly flourish and deliver the best possible film to our fans.”

Will Smith battles a clone of himself in a new movie

Will Smith plays elite assassin Henry Brogan, who must contend with a younger clone of himself, in the new trailer for Gemini Man.

The clip shows the younger clone questioning why he has been unable to take down his target, who seems to know every move he is about to make.

Both Henry Brogans then come into contact with each other during a heated standoff.

“Twenty-five years ago they made you from me,” the older Brogan says to his clone. “They chose me because there’s never been anybody like me. We have to end this right now.” Gemini Man, from director Ang Lee and producer Jerry Bruckheimer, is set to arrive in theatres on October 11. Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Clive Owen and Benedict Wong also star.
