‘Frozen 2’ receives new release date

Animated sequel Frozen 2 has a new and early release date and will now hit theatres on November 22, 2019.

The new release date moves the film up one week and puts it before the Thanksgiving holiday. Frozen 2 was originally scheduled for release on Nov. 27, 2019.

Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel are set to reprise their roles as Anna and Elsa respectively, alongside Josh Gad returning as snowman Olaf.

Frozen helmers Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck are directing once again based off of a script by Allison Schroeder and Lee. Evan Rachel Wood and Sterling K. Brown are in talks to join the voice cast.

The original Frozen is the highest grossing animated film of all time, having earned $1.3 billion worldwide.

Multi-player ghost game from Google

Google introduced an interactive Doodle for Halloween that allows users to experience a multiplayer video game involving ghosts. The game, titled The Great Ghoul Duel, can be played from Google’s homepage and features two teams of four ghosts competing against each other to see who can collect the most spirit flames.

The spirit flames are located around several Halloween-themed maps that players navigate by using either a mouse or arrow keys.

Players must deliver their collected spirit flames back to their home base or risk having some of them stolen by their opponents.

Delivering spirit flames awards players with bonuses such as enhanced speed and night vision. The team with the most spirit flames wins the match.

Users experience the game alongside random, real-life players in real-time through the use of Google Cloud.

The ‘Lion King’ remake in process

Seth Rogen has posted on Twitter a Lion King cast photo including Donald Glover, Billy Eichner and director Jon Favreau.

The cast appear to be in a recording studio. Rogen is set to voice Pumbaa in the upcoming Disney remake with Eichner as Timon, and Glover in the main role as Simba.

“Hakuna Matata,” Rogen said in reference to the famous song of the same name that appeared in the original Lion King. The song was performed by Simba, Timon and Pumbaa.

Lion King, which will feature a photo-realistic animation style, is set to arrive in theatres on July 19, 2019.

Beyonce is set to voice Nala with James Earl Jones reprising his role as Mufasa, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, Alfre Woodard as Sarabi, John Oliver as Zazu, John Kani as Rafiki and Keegan-Michael Key as Kamari.
