RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) seized 1.8 tons narcotics and arrested 30 people allegedly involved in drug trafficking besides impounding 18 vehicles across the country.

According to a press release, the seized drugs included 1,713 kg hashish, 59 kg opium, 25 kg heroin and 12 kg amphetamine.

The ANF Rawalpindi arrested Azmat Ali, a resident of Gujrat, at the Islamabad International Airport (IIA) and recovered 1.8 kg amphetamine from him.

In another operation, the ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a car at the Islamabad toll plaza and recovered 3.3 kg hashish concealed in its doors. Two suspects, identified as Amjidullah and Abdul Qadir, residents of Khyber Agency, were arrested.

The ANF also arrested Jan Mohammad, a resident of Mardan, and Masud, of Charsadda, at the IIA and recovered 3.37 kg amphetamine from them.

Another suspect, identified as Rehmat Zaib, a resident of Swat, was held at the IIA after three kg amphetamine was recovered from his bag.

The ANF in collaboration with the Motorway Police seized an unattended car on Islamabad Lahore Motorway at Chakri and recovered two kg heroin from it.

In yet another operation, the ANF intercepted a car near the motorway toll plaza, Islamabad, and recovered 81.055 kg hashish and 12.420 kg opium from it. The suspect, Ishtiaq Ahmed, a resident of Gujranwala, was arrested.

The ANF Lahore recovered 30 kg hashish from Israr Khan, a resident of Okara, and Sarfraz, of Sahiwal. In another operation, 18 kg hashish was recovered from Naseer Khan, a resident of Kohat. The ANF Lahore also recovered 5.1 kg heroin from parcels being sent to UK through a private courier based at the Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore.

The ANF also recovered 7.2 kg hashish from Sardar Ali, a resident of Peshawar. Besides, 24 kg opium was recovered from the possession of Mohammad Saleem and Imran Ali, residents of Gujranwala.

around 10.8 kg opium was recovered from Mohammad Sajjad, a resident of Lahore.

Moreover, six kg opium was recovered from Fazle Rabi, a resident of Peshawar. The ANF also recovered 27.6 kg hashish from two accused identified as Sajjad Khan and Abdul Wahab. Ahmed Aftab, a resident of Rahim Yar Khan, was arrested at Multan International Airport after 2.67 kg amphetamine was recovered from him.

The ANF Lahore recovered 2.25 kg heroin from the cavities of a car. A suspect identified as Mohammad Ajmal, a resident of Peshawar, was arrested.

Two kg heroin was recovered from the possession of Mohammad Waqas, a resident of Kasur, while six kg opium and 3.4 kg hashish were recovered from Sardar Ali Khan, Ameen Khan and Hazrat Ali Rehman, all residents of Karak.

The ANF Peshawar seized an unattended car at the new toll plaza in Kohat and recovered 26 kg hashish. In another operation, Irfan Khan, a resident of Kohat, was arrested at Peshawar airport after 795 grams amphetamine was recovered from his luggage. The ANF also intercepted a car near Kohat bridge in Peshawar and recovered 12 kg heroin from it. A suspect identified as Mohammad Adnan, a resident of Peshawar, was arrested.
