Keep calm during exams

This is regarding the cover story, “Keep calm during exams” by Talat Naz (YW, May 5). A few days ago my exams began, the first paper was mathematics, and I prepared a lot for it.

On the day of the examination, I was so stressed out that my mind went totally blank. But then I gathered myself, washed my face, relaxed myself with a cup of tea and went inside the examination hall. This worked. I solved the problems without any difficulty. I would suggest to everyone to follow the relaxing techniques from the article as they did help me.

The cover story “Keep calm during exams” by Talat Naz was very nice and the tips given to calm down ourselves were very helpful. Stress before exams is natural and almost every student becomes a victim of it.

My advice to all my fellow students is that they should always have positive thoughts and remain relaxed till the end.

Memories of my mother

This is with the reference to the article “Nostalgia; memories of my mother” by Arif Iftikhar (YW, May 12).

There is no greater love on earth than a mother’s, and there is no grief bigger than the death of one’s mother. The article touched my heart and I felt as if someone poured out my feelings on paper.

I am one of those who have lost their mother, so I can very well relate to the emotions the writer portrayed in his article. The article was indeed a great piece and it made us realise the importance of mothers in one’s life.

Does society control our actions?

The article “Does society control our actions?” by Ayesha Sohail expressed that we cannot accomplish some of the things we want to do due to the fear of society. We always judge our actions whether they are right or wrong according to the demands set by society.

In this fear, we make the wrong decisions as we prefer the choice of society over ours. We all are part of this society but we don’t try to bring about change in it.

When mommy’s gone!

This is with reference to the story “When mommy’s gone” by Saira Owais Adil. Mothers are the greatest teachers of compassion, love and fearlessness. It is true that life without a mother is nothing but like stagnant water. With mums, life becomes easy and full of adventure.
