Jurassic World 3 in development

Universal has announced the creative team that will develop the third entry in their Jurassic World series and the release date of the film — June 11, 2021.

Jurassic World 3 will be penned by franchise newcomer Emily Carmichael along with Colin Trevorrow, who directed the original Jurassic World and co-wrote this summer’s Fallen Kingdom, which roars into theatres on June 22. Trevorrow is also returning as executive producer with Steven Spielberg, who brought audiences Jurassic Park back in 1993.

“It’s important to this franchise that we welcome new creative voices to keep our storytelling fresh and alive,” Trevorrow said in a statement. “I’m thrilled with the tension and beauty J.A. has brought to Fallen Kingdom, and I know Emily will add another layer of emotion to the concluding chapter of our trilogy,” he continued in reference to Fallen Kingdom director J.A. Bayona.

Arnold Schwarzenegger joins cast of Kung Fury

Arnold Schwarzenegger has been cast in feature film version of David Sandberg’s action-comedy, Kung Fury.

It is reported that Schwarzenegger joins a cast that includes Michael Fassbender, David Hasselhoff and Sandberg who is starring and producing the project under his Laser Unicorns production company.

Kung Fury, a short film that has gained a cult following, was released in 2015 and paid homage to cheesy martial arts, police and action films of the 1980s. The feature film version will take place in 1985 Miami and deal with the breakup of the Kung Fury’s (Sandberg) Thunder cops squad following the death of a teammate.

Schwarzenegger will appear in the film as the American president. Production is set to begin this summer in the US and Europe.
