SUKKUR: Whether they belong to any community, all the people living in Sindh are Sindhis and they should fill in the column of mother language of the census form as ‘Sindhi’ for the prosperity of the province because further distribution of resources and the NFC Award will be in accordance with the population census.

This was stated by Pakistan Peoples Party MNA Mir Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani while addressing a press conference at the press club of Jacobabad on Saturday evening. He was accompanied by provincial minister Mir Mumtaz Hussain Jakhrani and all MPAs belonging to Jacobabad district, including Mir Aurangzeb Khan Panhwar, Dr Sohrab Sarki and Saira Shehalyani.

MNA Aijaz Jakhrani said the forthcoming population census had especial importance for the people of Sindh, therefore, the elected public representatives, media and people belonging to civil society should create awareness among the masses about the importance of population census. He said the attitude of the National Database & Registration Authority (Nadra) was not suitable with the Sindhi people because several people in Sindh were deprived of computerised national identity cards (CNICs).

In replying to a question, Mr Jakhrani said that for the success of the operation launched against terrorists on the borders of Sindh and Balochistan, the border force should be organised for which a meeting would be held with the Sindh chief minister.

Provincial minister Mumtaz Jakhrani on the occasion said that Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah struggled hard for the provision of modern facilities to the Sindh police.

Earlier, MNA Jakhrani presided over a meeting in the DC office of Jacobabad about various development schemes in the district.
