No room for extremism: Gustasap

Published December 15, 2003

MANSEHRA, Dec 14: Leader of the opposition in the NWFP Assembly Shahzada Gustasap Khan has said that there is no room for extremism and intolerance in Islam as Islam negates all sorts of religious and sectarian hatred.

Speaking as chief guest at the parents day and prize distribution ceremony of the Mansehra Public School and College here on Saturday, Gustasap Khan said the teachings of the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him) were not limited only to the Muslims but were universal and embodied a message of social and economic justice to all the mankind without any discrimination on the basis of faith, caste, colour and creed.

Shahzada Gustasap said it was an irony that some elements having their own vested interests were misinterpreting the teachings of Islam and were busy in distorting the facts.

These elements, by tarnishing the true picture of Islamic ideals had embarked on the path of intolerance, extremism and sectarian and religious hatred, he remarked.
