Attack on Indian army base in occupied Kashmir, as it happened

SRINAGAR: Heavily-armed suspected militants killed 17 Indian soldiers in a pre-dawn raid Sunday on an army base in India-held Kashmir (IHK), the worst such attack for years in the disputed Himalayan region.
The 'militants' first attacked a frontline base close to the Line of Control (LoC) before moving onto the brigade headquarters at Uri, army spokesman Colonel S.D. Goswami said.
They were armed with grenades and automatic rifles, an army official said on condition of anonymity.
Residents of Uri town saw smoke billowing from the nearby army base after dawn and heard continuous rounds of heavy gunfire, while army helicopters circled overhead.

Its not a Pakistani flag...its all green. Pakistani flag has a vertical white stripe at the hoist side and a white crescent and star in the middle.

Kashmir is not a part of India as per both countries' signing the UN document. Indian forces are occupying Kashmir and the Kashmiris are fighting for independence. This is an internal Kashmiri struggle.

Where ever human rights will be usurped and lives are controlled even by their own people revolution comes and in this case Kashmir which has different religious, cultural and customes are so different from Hindu India it is already late. Kashmirees are fighting for their basic human dignity and don't want to live under Indian control. What is wrong about it? Did Pakistan and India not struggled to have their own countries?
Why the whole world is so insensitive for Kashmirees rights if UNO believes in human betterment and dignity?

Its very heart breaking to hear that 17 soldiers lost their lives. I mean, bureaucrats rage fire from their tongues, but the consequences have to be faced by these soldiers.
On the second note, I feel it pertinent to mention that blaming everything on Pakistan is just cowardly. Admit that you too have a problem. There have been countless such attacks on Pakistan. How many did we blame on India.

To every action, there is equal and opposite reaction. Its high time and the right time for the movers and shakers as well as the elite ruling class in India to remember this famous and historic Newton's third law of motion. At the same time, it might be a good idea to look into Newton's first and second laws of motion too and try to understand them. The sooner they do it, the better.
