ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) plans to expand Islamabad Highway from Zero-point to Rawat to 10 lanes.

Besides, it will be signal free and have five underpasses and a flyover.

Talking to APP, CDA official on Wednesday said the planning wing of the authority had already issued a layout plan of the project.

He said tenders would be invited for the construction work after the feasibility report.

The official said after the completion of this mega project the traffic problems of would ease as residents of different housing schemes including Korang Town, Pakistan Town, Bahria Town and Media Town used the road.

The residents have also appealed to the authority to start the project on priority basis.
